Knitting History Forum
This afternoon we surveyed hand-knitting in South Asia, examined and reconstructed medieval to C17th liturgical gloves and C16th Dutch stockings, discussed C18th Bluestockings and literary salons as well as reappraising the evidence of early knitting in Europe. Knitting really is global and our delegates, speakers and the very different but equally absorbing papers we heard today truly reflect this. Knitting History Forum would like to thank all of our speakers, KHF members, conference delegates, London College of Fashion and everyone who worked hard to make this event possible and accessible. It's been a wonderful day #knittinghistory #knitting #textilehistory #dresshistory #khfconference2021 #khfconference #making #earlymodern #asianknitting #knittinginindia #bluestockings #knittedgloves #knittedstockings #knittedhats #knittedcaps #sixteenthcentury #seventeenthcentury #eighteenthcentury #nineteenthcentury #fashionhistory #costumehistory #historyofknitting #tudorknitting #elizabethanknitting ...
